OSRS Shield of Arrav Guide (Quick Quest Guide)

In this OSRS Shield of Arrav Quest Guide, we’ll go through all the steps to complete the quest.

Shield of Arrav Quest story & info

Shield of Arrav is the only F2P quest that requires a partner to complete. This Quest forces you to join either the Black Arm Gang or the Phoenix Gang, and you can’t switch sides.

Low level accounts should pick the Phoenix Gang (kill level 2), and higher lever players should pick the Black Arm Gang (kill level 23).

Quest Requirements

If you want to install it, you can install the Quest Helper directly from your Plugin Hub on Runelite.

Make a choice: Phoenix Gang or Black Arm Gang

This quest requires a partner to complete.

You both need to join two separate quest lines: one joins the Phoenix Gang, and the other joins the Black Arm Gang.

A partner can be found in the OSRS SOA clan chat. You can also use an alternate account of your own since this is an F2P quest.

Shield of Arrav Guide – Phoenix Gang

Quest Start

Speak with Reldo to start the Phoenix Gang version of the Shield of Arrav quest.

Reldo is located in the Library of the Varrock Quest,

Next, search the highlighted bookcase in the library.

Read the book.

Then, speak with Reldo once more.

Locating the Phoenix Gang

Next, speak with Barrack in the Varrock Square. Pay him 20 GP.

Now run South and you’ll find the Phoenix Gang base in the alleyway behind the pub.

Go down the ladder.

Downstairs, speak with Straven. Dialogue: 1-1

Go back up the ladder and head to the Varrock Pub (Blue Moon Inn).

Kill Jonny the Beard inside the Pub and pick up the intel report from this corpse.

Next, return to the Phoenix Gang Base and speak with Straven.

He will welcome you to the Phoenix Gang and hand you a key.

Now run through the base until you reach the largest room with a chest. Open the chest with the key you just received.

You’ll find one half of a shield.

Finding a partner

Now you will need a partner who is in the Black Arm Gang.

First, trade your weapon store key with them.

You can use the OSRS SOA clanchat if you don’t have a partner yet.

Ironman can’t trade. So use the weapon-store key on them instead.

Once your partner has the weapon store key, they can finish their part of the quest.

Next, make your way to the Varrock Museum and speak with Curator Haig.

Curator haig will give you 2 Half Certificates.

Trade with partner

Now both you and your partner should each have 2 certificate halves. Trade 1 half with each other for the other half.

Now use both certificates on each other to create a Certificate.

Finally, go inside the Varrock Castle and show the certificate to King Roald. Your quest is now complete!

Shield of Arrav Guide – Black Arm Gang

This is the guide for the Black Arm Gang.

Quest Start

Start the Black Arm Gang version of quest by speaking with Charlie the tramp in South Varrock. Dialogue: 5

Next, run into the Black Arm Gang headquarters (the big house behind Charlie) and speak with Katrine. Dialogue:1-1-1-1-1

Finding a partner

Now you will need the Weapon Store Key from a player who is doing the Phoenix Gang version of this quest.

You can find a partner in the clanchat ‘OSRS SOA’. They will need to trade you a weapon store key which they received from Straven after killing Jonny the beard.

Stealing Crossbows

Once you have the weapon store key, run to the Phoenix Gang headquarters and go UP the stairs in the second building.

Kill the weaponmaster.

And then pick up the two crossbows that he drops on the floor.

Now return to Katrine with the crossbows. She welcomes you to the Black Arm Gang.

Now go inside the building and go up the stairs.

Locate the cupboard and open it to find the Shield Half.

Next, make your way to the Varrock Museum and speak with Curator Haig.

He will give you 2 certificate halves.

Trade with partner

Now both you and your partner should each have 2 certificate halves. Trade 1 half with each other for the other half.

Now use both certificates on each other to create a Certificate.

Finally, go inside the Varrock Castle and show the certificate to King Roald. Your quest is now complete!
