In this OSRS Cook’s Assistant Guide, we’ll go through all the steps to complete the quest.
This guide is a part of our OSRS Optimal Quest Guide.
Cook’s Assistant story & info
In this quest, you are helping the Lumbridge cook by gathering ingredients for him. He has a birthday cake to make for the Lumbridge Duke and is too busy to get them himself. (He doesn’t seem to know about the Grand Exchange).
In return, he will give you some cooking experience and let you use his cooking range the ‘cook-o-matic’.
This is one of the original quests that came out with the original game. It’s super short and functions more as an introduction to questing than anything else. Players have to complete this quest to start the Recipe for Disaster quest series.
Cook’s Assistant Guide
For the quick version of this guide, purchase all of the ingredients from the Grand Exchange FIRST before teleporting to Lumbridge.
|You can teleport to Lumbridge using the home teleport spell in your Magic menu|
Speak with the Cook in the kitchen of Lumbridge Castle to start the Cook’s Assistant quest.
He will task you with obtaining the following ingredients for his cake:
- A bucket of milk
- A pot of flour
- And an egg
You can purchase all of these from the Grand Exchange and give them to him to complete the quest instantly.
OR, you can go the old-school route and gather the ingredients yourself.
1. Gather the Pot and Bucket
The pot is located on the table in the Lumbridge kitchen.
And the bucket is located in the cellar of the Lumbridge kitchen.
2. Bucket of Milk
|Items needed:||Don’t forget the bucket you took from the Lumbridge cellar.|
Run to the Lumbridge Cow Pen (across the bridge) and find the ‘milk dairy cow’. Use your bucket on the cow to milk her.
3. Grab an egg from the chicken farm
The chicken farm is located just northwest of the cow pen.
(Check the map earlier in the article.)
4. Make a pot of flour
|Items needed:||Don’t forget the empty pot you took from the Lumbridge kitchen|
First, run towards the windmill in Lumbridge. It’s located northwest of Lumbridge castle.
Pick up some grain from the wheat farm next to the wind mill.
Then go into the windmill and make your way up to the top floor.
Here, fill the hopper with the grain you just picked.
Then, pull the Hopper Controls. (Levers in the same room)
Now go downstairs to the main floor.
And use your pot of flour on the Flour bin to get a pot of flour.
5. Make a pot of flour
Go back to Lumbridge Castle and speak with the cook to give him your ingredients and complete the quest.
Congratulations. You’ve finished the Cook’s Assistant quest. The rewards are the following:
- 1 Quest Point
- 300 Cooking Experience
- You can use the cooking range in the Lumbridge kitchen
