In this OSRS Pirate’s Treasure Guide, we’ll go through all the steps to complete the quest.

Just like our other guides, this quest guide is F2P, P2P and Ironman friendly.

This guide is a part of our OSRS Optimal Quest Guide.

Pirate’s Treasure Guide

Navigation
1. Travel to Karamja
2. Purchase a Karamjan Rum from the bar
3. Pick 10 Bananas from the Banana Trees
4. Speak with Luthas and ask for a job
5. Return to Port Sarim
6. Getting a Job working for Wydin at the Food Shop
7. Give the rum to Redbeard Frank
8. Travel to the Varrock Pub
9. Travel to Falador

Quest Start

P2P: teleport to Rimmington and run east or use a Charter Ship OR a Pest Control teleport

You can start the Pirate’s treasure quest by speaking with Redbeard Frank in the Port Sarim Pub.

Redbeard frank knows the location of a treasure, and is willing to share it with you if you smuggle some Karamjan Rum for him.

1. Travel to Karamja

The boat to Karamja is located on the Port Sarim docks. You can pay any of the Captains (Tobias, Lloris, or Thresnor) 30GP to travel to Karamja.

2. Purchase a Karamjan Rum from the bar

Go to the Bar on Karamja and purchase a Karamjan Rum for 30GP from Zambo.

Now it’s time to smuggle the rum back into Port Sarim to get it to Redbeard Frank. Since you can’t just take the boat, you’ll have to figure out another way around it.

3. Pick 10 Bananas from the Banana Trees

Or skip this step if you bought them from the Grand Exchange ahead of time.

4. Speak with Luthas and ask for a job

Luthas is located in the small house next to the docks. He runs the Karamja Banana Plantation.

First, you’ll talk to him about the customs officers. Then, speak with him again to ask for a job.

Since you got the job, place your rum inside the crate just outside Luthas’s house. Then fill it with the 10 bananas you plucked earlier.

Your rum will now safely arrive in Port Sarim without getting checked but the customs officers, however, you still need to get to the crate!

Speak with Luthas again to get your payment for the job.

5. Return to Port Sarim

Take the boat back to Port Sarim by speaking with the Customs Officer at the Karamja Docks.

6. Getting a Job working for Wydin at the Food Shop

First, go and grab the White Apron from the back of the Port Sarim Fishing Shop.

Equip the apron and go to the Port Sarim Food Shop to get a job by speaking with Wydin.

Go into the back of the Food Shop and search the crate with the banana on top. You’ll find the Karamjan Rum.

7. Give the rum to Redbeard Frank

Return to the pub and give the rum to Redbeard Frank. He will give you a key.

8. Travel to the Varrock Pub

location osrsF2P: use chronicle to teleport to Varrock. Or use the Varrock Spell if you have 25 Magic.
P2P: use a Varrock teleport tablet to teleport to Varrock.

Head upstairs of the Varrock Pub (Blue Moon Inn) and look for a chest in one of the rooms.

Open the chest with the key Redbeard Frank gave you.

You’ll find a Pirate’s Message. Read it.

9. Travel to Falador

P2P: use a Falador teleport tablet to teleport to Falador.

Run towards the Falador Park.

Pick up a spade from the Estate Agent on the way (or skip it if you already have one on you).

Stand on this exact tile and dig with your spade.

A gardener will spawn and attack you. Kill the gardener or run away for him to despawn.

Then, dig again in the same spot. You’ll get a casket and the quest is complete!

Quests Rewards

Congratulations. You’ve finished the Pirate’s Treasure quest. The rewards are the following:

  • 2 Quest Points
  • Easier travel to Karamja with ‘Pay Fare’ option on the captains
  • One-Eyed Hectors Treasure Chest
