Below Ice Mountain is a quest that introduces the Ruins of Camdozaal, a new city to OSRS that is great for low-level and F2P skilling.

During the quest, you’ll recruit Willow’s crew of ‘archeologists’ (they are actually grave robbers) and eventually open the entrance to the ruins of Camdozaal.

Quest Start

F2P: Teleport to Falador (37 Magic) and walk North P2P: Use a Falador Teleport Tab or Combat Bracelet to the Monastery or a glory teleport to Edgeville.

The quest is started by speaking with Willow. She is located just below the dwarven mine.

Willow is an archeologist (or thief, depending on how you look at it) who discovered the entrance to some ancient ruins. She needs your help to get in. But first, you will have to help her re-unite with her old crew. Since they didn’t part on good terms, you have to help her make amends. She can’t do it herself, because she needs to protect the entrance, after all, someone might steal the glory right from under her.

Her crew:

• Burntof: an old dwarf skilled at demolition
• Checkal: strongman who can lift things (according to her, stronger than my character with a strength cape)
• Marley: the disarmer

Recruiting Checkal

Run East towards the Barbarian Village.

Here, you’ll find Checkal. Speak with him.

He will help you, if you can prove your strength to him.

To do so, you have to take a training with Atlas. He is inside the dining hall.

Atlas will take you through a free training. A rocky-training-style cut scene will start in which you run all around Varrock and Barbarian Village and do a ton of push ups. Once the cutscene is complete, you will unlock the Flex Emote.

Now go back to Checkal and use the Flex Emote in front of him.

Once you flexed your great muscles, Checkal will agree to meet you at the Ancient entrance.

Recruiting Marley

P2P: Use a Glory to teleport to Edgeville or Combat Bracelet to Monastery

Run North from Barbarian Village towards Edgeville (or use a glory teleport if you are really lazy).

You’ll find Marley at the Edgeville Yew trees.

Marley is clearly a thief, afraid of getting caught from his recent robbery in Varrock. He’s hungry too, and needs a warm meal.

The meal he requires (a steak sandwich) is made by the cook inside the Blue Moon Inn in Varrock.

So teleport to Varrock (or run) and get to the pub.

You’ll find the cook inside the kitchen in the back. Speak with him.

He doesn’t want to make the sandwich for you because he considers Marley a low-class criminal. However, he does tell you how to make the sandwich.

Use a knife on a piece of bread with a cooked meat in your inventory to create a steak sandwich.

Now return to Marley to give him the sandwich.

Recruiting Burntof

F2P: Use the Falador Teleport spell (37 Magic) P2P: Use a Falador Teleport Tablet

Burntof is located in the Falador Inn.

He will only talk to you if you buy him a beer. So buy one Asgarnian Ale from Kaylee or Emily.

Give him the beer.

He will then challenge you to a contest of Rock Papers Scissors

Luckily for us, he is too drunk so we can trick him. What you pick doesn’t matter, you will win anyway (I chose rock 3 times).

Once the cutscene is over, Marley is on the team.

Excavation Time

Now that the whole crew is recruited, it’s time to start the excavation process.

Meet Willow and the crew at the Ruins Entrance just west of the Ice Mountain. Here’s a map for you.

Once you arrive at the entrance, talk to Willow.

After talking with Willow, a cut scene will start.

All the lads from her crew will do their thing.

And then Willow reveals her true colors…

Finally, the crew runs of when a monster (Ancient Guardian Lvl 25) appears.

You have to kill it.

Alternatively, you can also mine the obstackles on the side.

Once killed, your quest is complete!

The Ruins of Camdozaal is an underground city where you have a bank, smithing, fishing and mining spots.
