🗺️ Fire Giant Location

Fire Giants can be found in a number of locations in Gielinor.

Most commonly, Fire Giants are killed in either the Stronghold Slayer Cave (cannon able) or Catacombs of Kourend (for AFK slayer).

Other locations include the Karuulm slayer dungeon, Waterfall dungeon, Smoke dungeon, and Brimhaven dungeon.

But for the most part, you will want to stick to either the Stronghold Slayer Cave or Catacombs of Kourend as these locations are most easily reachable and offer extra benefits such as setting up a dwarf cannon (stronghold slayer cave) or giving you tertiary drops such as Ancient Shards and Totem pieces (Catacombs of Kourend).

The Stronghold Slayer Cave can be easily reached using any spirit tree to teleport to the Gnome Stronghold.

The Catacombs of Kourend can be easily reached through the Kourend Castle Teleport or using the Xeric’s Heart teleport on a Xeric’s Talisman.

Inside the Catacombs of Kourend, you have 2 locations for fire giants. The basement area, which is single way combat and allows ranged safespotting and the ground area which is multicombat and is great for AFK training with overheads.

Both spots are located in the western side of the catacombs. You will need a pickaxe for the multicombat zone as some rocks are obstructing the pathway. For the single combat zone you have to climb down the vine at the skeletons.

💭 How to fight Fire Giants (Strategy)

Fire Giants are weak to everything so you can decide between Melee, Ranged, or a Magic setup.

Melee is preferred as in most cases (obviously depending on your stats) you will be able to output the most amount of DPS.

If you are a lower level, you may want to use Ranged as there are plenty of safespots available for slaying fire giants.

Fire Giants are not difficult to kill, have no special mechanics, and give a good amount of slayer experience.

🤔 Are Fire Giant Tasks Worth It?

Fire Giants are an annoying task to get as they drop next to nothing (except the rune scimitar) but you’ll obtain a decent amount of slayer experience slaying them so you shouldn’t skip this task.

You can fly through this task and gain a ton of experience at the same time by using a cannon in the Stronghold Slayer Cave. Alternatively, you can turn this into an AFK task by using protect from melee in the Catacombs of Kourend.

If you have a decent P-O-H with an altar and a Kourend Castle teleport (which should be the goal of ANYONE training slayer, for more info read our OSRS Slayer Guide) you won’t even need to prayer potions as you can continuously teleport back to your house to recharge prayer.

This method is especially viable if a player has the bone crusher in their inventory which will trigger the prayer restoration effect that the catacombs of kourend have (you get 2 prayer points restored per buried big bone).

🗡️ Fire Giant Gear Setup

Melee gear setup

As Fire Giants are weak to everything you can use whatever weapon outputs the most DPS for you.

This can be a dragon scimitar if you are a mid-game ironman or a whip/rapier if you are a main account.

These can hit a fair deal so it’s advised to either optimize for prayer bonus with proselyte and use overheads or go with some tank legs (barrows legs, assets) in combination with a fighter torso or better.

Going in with full rune is entirely possible but you will need a good teleportation method as you will have to restock frequently.

Ranged gear setup

Since you’ll be safe spotting the fire giants when using ranged, you should opt for the most DPS possible.

💰 Fire Giant Drop Table

💰 According to OSRS WIKI, the average drop of a Fire Giant is worth 713 GP.
💰 The hourly profit at Fire Giants is 21k GP/hr. (source: OSRS WIKI)

Like I said earlier, Fire Giants don’t have a great drop table.

Here are some of the best drops:

  • Rune Scimitar
  • Fire Battlestaff

They also have an herb drop table.

Fire Giants drop quite a lot of ensouled giant heads which aren’t that valuable to main accounts but they can be a good way to boost through early prayer levels for ironmen.

When killed in the Catacombs of Kourend, Fire Giants have a 1/233 chance of dropping an Ancient Shard and 1/350 chance of dropping a dark totem piece.
