When fighting drakes you should always have protect from missiles on to avoid taking any damage except from his melee attacks. If you don’t have a dragonfire shield (which isn’t necessary) you will have to avoid drakes special attack. Every 5-7 hits, the drake will shoot a fireball in your direction. This fireball can deal up to 8 damage for 4 hits in a row, making the special attack max hit 32.

To avoid the special attack, simply move away two tiles once you him cast the fire ball.

Gear Setup

The best in slot weapon would be the dragonhunter lance as this weapon will rip through the drake’s defense like its nothing. If you can’t afford a dragonhunter lance, the whip is a perfectly fine alternative.

If you don’t want to take any damage from the special attack and prefer a more AFK-like approach, you can use the dragonfire shield in combination with super antifires to completely negate the attack.

Unless you have completed the Elite Kourend & Kebos diaries, you have to wear granite boots, boots of brimstone or boots of stone to avoid taking damage from the slayer dungeons hot floors
