🗺️ Blue Dragon Locations

Blue Dragons are located around a number of spots in Gielinor.

However, the most notable, and most used spot is inside the Taverley Dungeon.

Blue Dragon Location in Taverley Dungeon

The Taverley Dungeon is located just underneath Taverley. You can get here by teleporting to Falador and running towards the western wall. Next, climb over the agility shortcut and just northeast you will find a dungeon entrance, enter that dungeon.

The Blue Dragons are located just east of the dungeon entrance.

To access this spot, you will need to either have 70 Agility (short way) or a Dusty Key (long way).

Both pathways are illustrated below.

How to obtain the Dusty Key

If you do not have 70 Agility and don’t have the Dusty Key yet the video below will show you exactly how you can get it.

Blue Dragon Alternatives

Baby Blue Dragons

If you don’t want to kill Blue Dragons (as they are quite slow to kill, especially at lower levels) you can kill BABY blue dragons instead.

The baby dragons count towards your slayer task and will allow you to finish the task much faster than if you would spend it killing actual Blue Dragons.

Baby Blue Dragons are located between the Blue Dragons and the Black Demons in the Taverley Dungeon.

Vorkath (boss)

Alternatively, Vorkath does count as a blue dragon task so players who who have completed Dragon Slayer 2 can kill Vorkath instead as he has some seriously good drops.

Check out our Vorkath Guide.

💭 How to fight Blue Dragons (Strategy)

Blue Dragons are weak to stab weapons. If you are using melee, you should be using the best stab weapon you can afford.

Below is a list of the weapons with the best stab bonus in order.

Alternatively, Blue Dragons are often safespotted with Magic or Ranged.

This method is recommended if you don’t have high melee stats and decent gear.

Safespot Locations

Below is an illustration of the two best safespots in the Taverley dungeon.

The first one is located in the top-middle of the room and the second one is located just towards the end of the room.

Melee Gear Setup

Here is an example gear setup for Blue Dragons tasks at every budget/level.

Keep in mind to bring an anti dragon shield and a weapon with a good stab bonus.

If using magic or ranged, you should simply bring your best-in-slot gear.

Don’t forget your anti-dragon shield switch for when you’re picking up the drops.

osrs drop table Blue Dragon Drop Table

💰 According to OSRS WIKI, the average drop of a Blue Dragon is worth 4,310 GP.

Blue Dragons always drop Dragon Bones and Blue Dragonhide which are worth 3,756gp together.

Blue Dragons also have other drops such as herbs, coins, and runes.

🤔 Are Blue Dragon Tasks Worth It?

Blue Dragon Tasks are always worth it in my opinion as they are a great money maker when banking the bones and dragonhides.

Especially for ironmen these tasks are very welcome as they will desperately need the bones for their prayer grind.

Players with high combat stats and gear, and access to Vorkath, should kill Vorkath instead for an average drop of 160k.

Lower combat players who want to skip this task can fight the Baby Blue Dragons instead.
