Yesterday on May 1st, Jagex opened up the new DMM tournament for 2020. DMM or deadman mode, for those unfamiliar, is a seasonal game mode within old school runescape where players completely start from scratch. The ultimate goal is to win the tournament by being the last man standing.

However there are other reasons to participate in the osrs DMM tournament, one of them is to earn money for your OSRS account by swapping them over from your DMM account.

DMM MAY 2020 Prize Pool

1st place prize: $1,000 CASH + Intel swag bag, intel SSD, i9-9900K CPU and the Razer ultimate bundle

The first 30 minutes are crucial. During the first 30 minutes you are protected from Pkers AND you receive double the exp rates you would usually get.

How to make money in DMM MAY 2020

Moneymaking in DMM is very easy with the brand new economy, increased experience and the increases drops of monsters in the game.

Swapping in DMM and OSRS

Jagex has allowed swapping for this DMM tournament which means you can exchange your DMM cash stack for OSRS cash.

Swapping rates will be around 1:20 – 1:30 meaning that for every 100k in DMM, you have 2-3M in OSRS.

Don’t get scammed!! Swapping IS a trust trade. Do your due diligence before trading someone your money.

Moneymaking with combat

If you plan on training your combat stats which undoubtedly many of you will, there are a couple of good options for you to pick from. For some of you that don’t know, loot tables are increased in a DMM tournament.

This means you have a higher chance of receiving a barrows item in the barrows mini-game. Higher chance of receiving a purple drop at Chambers of Xeric. Increased drop rates at the entire God Wars Dungeon and item drops such as the abyssal whip, draconic visage, zamorak spear, and more are much more likely.

That gives you many options to pick from: Raids, GWD, Barrows mini-game and training slayer

Wilderness bosses special loot table in DMM

Wilderness boses are even more interesting, during the DMM tournament, they drop NEW items not actually in OSRS. These items include: Vesta’s longsword, Vesta’s spear, Morrigan’s Javelin/throwing axe and more.

Dragon bones

Dragon bone drops are doubled, this means you get 2 dragon bones for every dragon you kill in DMM.

Clue scrolls

Clue scrolls steps are also different in DMM. There is no longer a random amount of steps.

Beginner: 1-2 steps, Easy: 1-2 steps, Medium: 1-3 steps, Hard: 2-3 steps, Elite 2-4 steps and Master 3-4 steps.

Moneymaking with skilling

Fishing

With experience rates increased by 10x and the PVPing tournament players needing food, fishing is a very profitable skill in DMM. Not to mention jagex has tripled fishing loot. This means that for every shark you catch, you will actually get three. Fishing can not be done from safe zones.

Smithing

If you can get your hands on bars through an alt or the grand exchange, smithing can be very profitable skill to make money in a DMM tournament. People need armour like mithril sets(for defenders), rune (for pking) and more. This is especially profitable in the early game so get in quick. Smithing can be done from the safe zone.

Agility

You can make some quick money running the agility pyramid. Every time you complete the pyramid, you get the pyramid top which you can exchange for 10k when speaking with Simon Templeton.

From level 75 agility you will stop failing the course meaning that with perfect clicks you can do 26  runs per hour, or 260K gp per hour.

You can get hourly exp rates at the pyramid of up to 400K/hr.

If you plan on creating an account for swapping purposes only, agility is a great way to do it. Right when you create your account, speak to skippy and ask to be taken to the gnome stronghold. Here you can do the gnome agility course while you’re still under the 30 minute protection and have a 20x exp rate. In this first half hour you should be able to get to level 50+ agility. From then on you can move to the varrock rooftop course or if you’re feeling it, move straight to the agility pyramid.

Thieving

Thieving can be profitable early on by doing silk/fur stalls. Silk will make you 20k/hr (sell them back for 60gp/each to the silk trader) and fur will make you 40K/hr (sell them in varrock for 120gp/each to Baraek) . Neither of these are super great but you can do them in the Ardougne market safezone.

Please note: you won’t get any money from pickpocketing in the safe zones.

Fletching

By obtaining a high fletching level (100% safe zone), you can alch for profits or sell valuable items like magic shortbows at the grand exchange.
